Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to all CyprusNode services, including VPS servers, web hosting, mail hosting, dedicated servers, DNS, and related products. It forms part of our Terms of Service. A breach of this AUP is a breach of your agreement with us.
1. Your responsibility
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and on services you control, including actions by your staff, contractors, customers, and end users. You must use our services lawfully and in a way that does not harm CyprusNode, our network, our other customers, or third parties.
2. Prohibited activities
You may not use our services, or help others use our services, to:
- Break Cyprus, EU, or other applicable law
- Host or distribute illegal content, including child sexual abuse material
- Run DDoS attacks, port scans, brute-force attacks, or other network abuse
- Send spam, phishing, smishing, or other deceptive bulk messages
- Host fraud, impersonation, or credential theft pages
- Distribute malware, ransomware, botnets, or exploit kits
- Infringe copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
- Mine cryptocurrency or run sustained high-load compute farms unless your plan explicitly allows it in writing
- Run open proxies, unauthorized VPN relays, or tunnel services that facilitate abuse
- Access or attack other customers' accounts, servers, or data
- Circumvent billing limits, abuse controls, or suspensions
- Publish defamation, hate speech, harassment, threats, or violent extremist content
- Violate sanctions or export control rules
3. Resource usage and fair use
- Use only the CPU, RAM, storage, and bandwidth included in your plan.
- Sustained overuse that harms shared platforms may result in throttling, upgrade requirements, or suspension.
- Do not use storage as a public warez site, bulk file distribution network, or off-purpose backup farm.
- Backups are your responsibility unless your plan includes a backup product.
- Extra bandwidth is charged at EUR 2.50 per terabyte unless your product page states otherwise.
4. Email and messaging
- Follow anti-spam rules for your recipients, including EU electronic marketing rules.
- Configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for domains that send mail through our systems.
- Send marketing email only to people who opted in where consent is needed.
- Honor unsubscribe requests promptly.
- We may rate-limit, filter, or suspend outbound mail that harms IP reputation or triggers blocklists.
5. Security
- Keep software, CMS plugins, and server configurations patched and secured.
- Use strong passwords and multi-factor authentication where available.
- Open a support ticket promptly if your service is compromised and affects our network or other customers.
- We may isolate or suspend compromised systems until the issue is fixed.
6. Enforcement
We may investigate abuse reports and review logs as needed. Depending on severity, we may:
- Issue a warning and require you to fix the issue
- Throttle, filter, or block traffic or ports
- Suspend services immediately
- Terminate services without refund
- Report illegal activity to authorities
- Pursue recovery of damages caused by your violation
We may act without prior notice when urgent action is needed to protect the network or other customers.
7. Report abuse
Report abuse to abuse@cyprusnode.com with URLs, IPs, timestamps, email headers, and a clear description. Put URGENT in the subject for active attacks.
